Thank you for all your lovely messages in response to last week’s Christmas Gift Guide! It seems lots of you are also planning on shopping small this Christmas and I’m delighted that some of my suggestions were useful.
So here’s part two for you all…
Skincare & Make-Up…
I get some lovely compliments on my skin when I do videos on social media (thank you!) and I’m very diligent about my skincare. I think it comes from having quite troublesome skin in my teens – I had a good routine from an early age and it is something I’m religious about.
In addition to that though there are two women who have helped me immensely with both my skincare and make-up routine to really make the best of what I have…
Faces By Lauren Rippin – those of you who follow me on social media will have seen Lauren pop-up several times. We often do workshops and events in collaboration and I just love her for so many reasons. Lauren is my go-to whenever I need my make-up doing for a photoshoot or event and she offers the most amazing advice and make-up lessons.
In addition to this she has recently become an ambassador for Tropic Skincare and introduced me to several products from their gorgeous range. She absolutely knows her stuff and offers both face-to-face sessions to those local to Leeds as well as virtual make-up lessons and skin consultations for those further afield (or due to lockdown).
Feel Good Therapy – Yvette at Feel Good Therapy is the other woman who has helped me so much with my skin. Her detailed knowledge of skincare and inparticular the scientically-based Environ range is simply astounding. I ave missed my facials with her so much this year but am still using Environ products as they have really transformed my skin. Yvette can also offer virtual skincare consultations to those who are not local to Yorkshire and sells the entire range from her studio which is available for posting out.
Both these incredibly wonderful, hardworking women have seen their businesses hugely affected this year due to being closed and unable to offer several of their usual services – a gift voucher purchase for a loved one would make the most fantastic present for someone special this Christmas.
Gifts For The Littles…
Mama Brown & Co. – I discovered Mama Brown during lockdown and they have a great range of i and art/crafty bits for kids.
The Modern Nursery – absolutely gorgeous interiors for kids as well as a beautiful selection of toys, ball pits and teepees
Magnificent Stanley – I mentioned this lovely brand last week when they should really have been in this week’s post so popping them here too! I love their tops and tees for children, all personalised using liberty print fabrics.
For Your Furry Friends…
So it may come as no surprise to you that I’ve come across a few puppy related independent retailers these past few months since welcoming our Sprocker Mr Ted. Here are some of my favourites…
Pet Nanny Boutique – gift boxes filled with tasty treats for doggies. Some are a bit gruesome (pig’s nose anyone?) but Ted LOVES them and they’re prefect if you want to watch a movie in peace without a hyper puppy jumping all over you.
The Stylish Dog Company – gorgeous range of collars and leads in different colours and fabrics, a must for a fashion-conscious pooch!
Crafty Pug World – I’ve ordered Mr Ted some Christmas chew toys from here – love the vast range on offer as well as the fun designs.
EcoKitty – if you’re as soft as me and buy presents for your pets at Christmas then I would definitely check out EcoKitty for little treats you can get your cats that will hopefully ensure they’re not tearing into your presents or battling your baubles on Christmas day!

I do hope these gift guides have given you some small business inspiration for your Christmas shopping! If you’d like to see any more gift guides before the end of the month let me know and I’ll do my best to cater for your requests!
Happy Festive Shopping
